JICT wins 'Terminal Operator of the Year' at prestigious INSA Awards

PT Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT) received “Terminal Operator of the Year” award at the Indonesian National Ship-owners Association (INSA) Awards 2011. The award ceremony took place on Friday, 9 December, 2011 at Ritz-Carlton, Jakarta. The award recognizes JICT’s high quality service and operational performance. JICT also won “Terminal Operator of the Year” at the INSA Awards 2010. "We are very proud of this achievement. JICT keeps up-to-date with latest technology and innovations in the container terminal industry which helped us win amid tight competition" said President Director of JICT, Helman Sembiring in Jakarta, Monday (12/12)."We continuously work to improve productivity and quality of service in the future" added Helman.JICT will soon implement the latest in automated gate transaction technology: JICT Auto-Gate System (JAGS). This system features automated service to shorten Tractor Turnaround Time (TRT).  With this technology, JICT will be able to serve more than 7,500 trucks daily in a faster and more efficient manner. Additionally, JICT will implement “e-billing” in 2012.Over the past 10 years, JICT has invested more than US$250 million to develop and improve its operating capabilities to serve the growing international trade passing through the port of Tanjung Priok. The investment has increased terminal capacity from two million TEU per annum to three million TEU per annum in 2011. JICT’s five main pillars for improvement are: Operational Excellence; Investment; Customer Value; Care for the Community; and Commitment to the Environment.
