(Jakarta, 17 March 2011) Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT) welomes new service Intra Asia routes at its Terminal 1, Hua Bei Indonesia, a vessel of 239 in lenght and 42,969 tons of deadweight and a capacity of 3.500 TEUs, is operated by Evergreen Shipping Line with berthing scheduled once a week and will perform 3.000 TEUs. This weekly sailing will service Xingang - Dalian - Qingdao - Shanghai - Hong Kong - Shekou - Singapore - Kaohsiung.
Commenting on this new service, President Director of JICT Helman Sembiring said. "The opening of this new route describes the customers’ trust to JICT service quality. JICT had successfully established itself as the fastest services in container terminal. "
In order to support the national economy growth, especially on increasing the goods flows, JICT continue to develop its facilities through yard expansion, purchase of new equipments and enhancing its terminal operating system with the latest technology. Currently, JICT has 21 Quay Crane and 74 RTGC with stacking yard capability of 2.5 million TEUs per annum.
With the completion of the expansion plan, JICT is expected to increase its container handling capacity to more than 3 million TEU per annum on 2012 and substantiate its presence as the most efficient and largest container terminal in Indonesia.
